By Lori , Pewamo, Michigan USASo do we have that 3rd baby? I just felt something or someone was missing and our family wasn't complete. I knew I'd be taking a risk but felt confident. I felt the need to prove that I could carry a baby full term and bring a healthy infant home with me. I was 34 and pregnant. I was a stay at home mom and on restrictions. Very hard with 2 preschoolers at home. I was lucky to have a husband who was very helpful. My mother lives very near and was very helpful also. My pregnancy was very stressful due to unexpected and uncontrollable circumstances with my husband's job. I was so stressed out. I went from feeling so calm and peaceful to scared to death of delivering a preemie without health insurance. I knew the NICU costs are astronomical. Thankfully my husband got a new job and his employer arranged to give us health insurance earlier than the normal employee would start. I carried this baby to 36 weeks. My membranes ruptured on 7/8/99 and 4 hours later Sophia was born in a breech position also. She weighed 6 lbs., 4 oz. Twice as much as my 29 weeker. I was so happy. She came home with me. She was a chubby infant and such a sweet angel. We're very lucky to have her. I'm so happy I didn't let my fear of PROM keep me from getting pregnant that last time.
