On 19 May 2010 I awoke to find pink tinged tissue after using the bathroom. This immediately sent me into a frenzy. Knowing what blood means this late in the game I went to the emergency room. I was 2 days shy of 19 weeks. I was seen by the doc and given an ultrasound. Doc said everything was fine. Baby was laying in the right position and all was well. "Baby looks good." The next morning I awoke to bright red blood. I then went back to er and they diagnosed me with a UTI and threatened miscarriage.

Home we went! I layed on the couch for awhile with slight cramping and suddenly felt a pop in my lower ab. I rushed to the bathroom and out came a bunch of fluid. I thought this came from the UTI so I paid it no mind. Hours later I lay in the bed with lower back pain and some uterine contractions. I drank a bunch of water an lay on my left side as directed in the "Book" Sleep came upon me and morning was near.

The 21st was the day I was to find out what I was having. I went to this appt with apprehension because I was now bleeding for two days. I informed the tech prior to my ultarsound. When she scanned my belly my child was without fluid. I was hysterical and told that I would have to deliver the baby because its heartrate was low and there was no fluid. I was wheeled into Labor and delivery and a check of my cervix was done. I was 8 centimeters. My baby was in the birth canal. After having severe contractions I was given an epi. It helped with the pain physically but not emotionally. Three hours later my baby boy was born. ALIVE! He stayed alive for 3 hours. I was told constantly "Just so you know, he is not viable." When I saw him I was heartbroken. His face was just like mine. His dad held him until he died in another room. I could not bear the pain emotionally. I had a D and C because the placenta would not deliver on its own. The procedure was not bad but the ab pain afterward was horrible. I am 1 week post birth and D and C and I think I'm healing well.

This is my second pregnancy and I want to try again but I am afraid of going through this again. I am 39 and my time is running out in my eyes. I have a 5 year old lil girl and I love her dearly. I would like to give her another sibling if possible. I'm going to give it until Dec and if nothing happens this chapter will be closed.Thank you for reading. Will keep all posted on future attempts.
