Sam's Post PROM Story

Now for the positive story, I became pregnant with my second son in November ( last year). I was super nervous about being pregnant again. Who wouldn't be! I read website after website trying to find encouraging stories of women whom experienced pProm and then had successful pregnancies after that. To my disappointment I seemed to find a lot of reoccurring PPROM stories... not too many good ones. So I swore that if this pregnancy went well I would come back to this site to give a happy story for those who need the positive story I did.
So here I am, writing this as a new mom!

My next pregnancy went to full term. I was tested for BV, I tested positive and was treated for antibiotics. I went to the perinatal doctor from 14 weeks to 36 weeks. He gave me an ultrasound to check my cervix every few weeks. I also went to my OB every other week where they also checked my cervix through an ultra sound... it was always fine. At 17 weeks I began to get the progesterone shots... got those until 36 weeks. I was also on a low dose of daily antibiotics for bladder infection prevention. Oh and I was on "pelvic rest"... No sex and hired a house keeper. Wow, that seems like a lot, but over 9 months it wasn't so bad... took a pill a day, saw doctors a lot, got weekly shots and didn't get busy with my husband! Worth it for the cute little guy we have now!

I know that it's a scary time for anyone that experience PPROM, but I hope my success story helps some of you get through your next pregnancy with a little less fear.
