I was 20 wks pregnant with twin boys, i had had a few problems in the early stages of the pregnancy with bleeding but everytime i went into hospital they checked me over and all was fine. After i passed the 12 wk stage i began to relax a bit because i thought that was pretty much past the danger stage for misscarriage, i was due to have my 20 wk scan on 22 feb 06, this was my first pregnancy so i was really looking forward to seeing a scan where the twins actually looked like proper babies not just blobs, on the 19th i had backache and found it hard to sleep but figured it was just cos i was so big due to it being twins, the next day i was still achy but everyone said it was just growing pains, i went to my grandmas house and we were looking at pushchairs on the internet, i was still getting lower backache but i was also getting pains accross my belly that felt like someone stretching an elastic babd accross me then letting it go, they werent really painfull, just annoying, in the end my nan said call hospital just to check, which i did and they said come in, i wasnt worried at all though because there was no blood and it hardly hurt.
When we got to the hospital the nurse checked my babies heartbeats (which were fine), she measured my belly and took urine samples to check 4 infection, all came bk negative, i was still getting the pains, i went to toilet and whilst on toilet my membrane sac poppped out, the nurses came to help, i was put on a bed and a doctor scanned me and both my babies were where they should be with stong heartbeats.
I was elevated on the bed so my sac could go bk in with the help of gravity, i was left like that for 20 hrs, by the time they came bk one of my tins had gone into birth canal and i was told id have to give birth, no one had offered to stitch me up to try to prolong the preganancy, or gave me the option to try to deliver the first twin and attempt to save the 2nd one.

On 21 feb 06 i went into labour, the doctor had to break my first lot of waters and had to manually deliver my first son, he was breathing for 2 mins after birth, my second son was lying accross my belly very high up, his waters were in tact and he had a heartbeat, i asked the doctor to give me time to see if my cervix would close bk up, he said he would then he said he wanted to do an examination to see where everything was, instaed of scanning me to see he did a manual exam, during which he broke my other sac of waters which meant i had no choice but to deliver my 2nd son, it took an hr to deliver him, during which time he died, he was stillborn.
I believe that had the doctor left me alone my son had a chance of survival, it seems like the doctors just think there is no point so lets just get on with it.
I dont know if any one else has had this problem but because my first son teshaan was breathing, i had to get a birth certificate and death certificate for him, but because of the long time between their deliverys my second son lee died inside me so i was not allowed to register him at all, i think this is really unfair as they are twins.
I held my sons funeral on 8 march 06, it was the worst day of my life.
