Story added: 2004-11-04
I started bleeding at about 8 weeks into my pregnancy and bleed on and off untill 19 weeks, had about 5 ultrasounds and was told everything was fine, there was just no answers as to why and at 19 weeks 3 days i had a gush of pink fluid and was rushed to hospital where i was told my devastating news i was advised to have a termination as there was no way would i get through the next 24 hours without going in to labour i was advised to stay in hospital but i wanted to go home where i had my other 3 children around to try to take my mind off it. so i went home and played a waiting game totally devastated, but i got through 48 hours and i got through the next 9 weeks with hospital appointments 3 times a week keeping a check on me and baby. on the 7/7/04 i had an appointment with the top doctor who told me to get moving around or i would have clots in my legs so after 9 weeks total rest i went shopping and at 2am on the 8/7/04 i started bleeding heavy and was rushed to hospital and gave bith by c section to a very ill little boy named kade stephen weighing 2lb 14oz he was rushed straight to nicu and put on a high frequency ocillator and had a chest drain for a collapsed lung, then we were told his heart was on the wrong side and they did not know if it would cause problems i broke my heart the first time i saw that tiny little baby with so many wires and machines but he fought so hard at 3 weeks he was transferred to a different hospital because he had a blockage in his stomach which lucky enough cleared its self without surgery and he was sent back to our local hospital a week later off a ventillator and on cpap i was happy he was getting better he moved out of icu and in to hdu one step closer to the door or so i thought, then a set back he picked up phnomonia and back on a ventillator he spent 3 weeks fighting for his life again he was critical we were told he would not make it but again he did and he slowly moved to the nursery on low flow oxygen and after 14 long weeks (96 days) we took our little miracle home on oxygen for chronic lung disease weighing 6lb 15oz he is 17 weeks old now 8lb and doing really well hoping to be off the oxygen for xmas cant wait. every day i look at him and know someone was looking after him and thank them for my little miracle son kade stephen.x good luck to you all out there going through the same and my advise to you all never give up hope its the hardest thing i have ever had to go through in my life but it worth it
