I was 29 weeks gestation when I experienced PROM. I was at home and that morning everything was fine, I was sitting on our sofa with my daughter and when I got up to go to the kitchen I felt a gush of fluid, i went to the bathroom and notice more fluid was coming out. I asked my husband to come in and look and then more came, we both were nerveous and I told him I think it's my water that just broke. We went to my midwife's office and they examaned me they admitted me to the hospital and for the next 6 days I was in the hospital. On my 30th week gestation I delivered my son Max who weighed 2 LBS 11 OZ. It was very hard because they took him away so quick to the NICU, beign able to hold my daughter and son before it just felt horrible, and then having to wait 2 hours to finally see him. Max is now 2 weeks old and still in the NICU. He did so good up till now. He never had oxygen and has been in an isolette since the day he was born, but last week he started to have acid reflux and now he is on oxygen and has so many spells. It is so scary to watch his heart rate go down to 30 and his resp to 70. We pray for him every night and hope that they will find a way for him to not have so many spells a day. He is my angle and my hero. I know he is a fighter and I know he will get through this, but it is just so scary. I appreciate all the staff in the NICU, but sometimes it is hard to take their word, just because I have never gone through any thing like this before. I have read all the other stories on this website, It's amazing when you have never had problems before in other pregnancies and then you have one you automatically think you are the only one but I'm not and it is reassuring to know that there are other women out there who are and have gone through what I and my family are right now. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
