Hello, before I start I'd like to say thankyou too all the Mothers who have shared there stories. This support page helped keep me possitive throughout my pregnancy. After trying to conceive for over 5 years my partner and I decided to give I.v.f a go in early 2012. On our first attempt with alot of faith and praying we received a positive result so to celebrate we decided too take a break at a nice resort at this stage I was 5wks. While on our break my doctor called and told me he was very concerned and that I needed to go and have an immediate ultrasound he said he feared the pregnancy was ectopic. So my partner and I raced off to get the ultrasound done and had the result faxed to my doctor. My doctor called shortly after we arrived back at the resort and instructed me to go have an emergency D&C because the result was grim. I was 100% sure and had all faith that in this instant my doctor was wrong but my partner convinced me to go to the hospital and if there was no proof my life was in danger we would continue with the pregnancy. So after a 6 hour wait in the local emergency department the gynecologist instructed me to go home and rest and to have another scan in a weeks time. One week later I saw our little bub flickering on the screen. Oh I was relieved and thankfull for this miracle. I finally reached week 12 and had a scan to check if the baby was ok everything looked fine we were told we were expecting a little girl. Around week 13.4 I started to bleed and well you could imagine the fear. Thankfully by the time I made it to the doctors the bleeding had stopped butI was told to prepare for the worst. So with alot more praying and faith the worst did'nt arrive untill week 19 I had come home from work and had felt a little ill all day I started to tell my partner then I suddenly felt a big warm gush and sped off to the bathroom fearing that I'd started to have a big bleed and was about to loose the baby, then I saw it was clear fluid I was releived but embarrassed because I thought I'd pee'd myself. The next morning I went to a tertiary hospital Mater mothers in brisbane. It was the early pregnancy assesment unit one of the specialist who was handling my case gsve me an exam and had me lay on my back for half an hour when she came back she did another exam and told me my waters had broken and that I needed to have an ultrasound. From there I was told of my prom status and that there was next to no fluid around the baby and the likely hood of survival was 0% and that I needed to terminate a.s.a.p. And that moment I told the doctor life is not disposable and opted to let nature take its course. The doctor said there was nothing else they could do to help us and if by some miracle I was still pregnant at week 24 then to come back for a scan. From that point I was determined to make it to week 24. I stopped work and went on maternity leave drank lots of water and googled every hope under the sun along with prayer and faith we had made it to week 24. But the results were still the same once again I was offered a termination and told if the baby survives she was going to be deformed amoung other dire health problems. Once again I kept the faith and said I'd carry on doing what im doing and come back in two weeks time. Two weeks came and went and one of my gynos from my local hospital clicked to that fact I was remaining possitive and adapted accordingly with a possitive attitude I was thankfull even though I knew he was a statistics man and the odds were against us. Meanwhile back at the Mater doctors were very surprised but still very pessimistic about the whole situation. I had read many prom stories that had tuff routes with lung disease and other medical issues but they all gave me hope when I needed it the most. By week 27 I was going in for my weekly scan and bloods at two different hospital. I had also revealed to all the doctors handling my case that I due to be married on the 12/12/2012 which would be week 29.2 and they all agreed and wished us all the best. Everything was booked and paid for I'd spent 3 months planning our small intimate perfect wedding and durring the week 28 scan the manager sat in on one of my scans and later insisted I be hospitalized for the following duration of my pregnancy. I was left confused why the sudden back flip every week I'd been told there was nothing they could do. Then one week before my wedding they pull this curve ball. So as always declined and carried on with our plans too marry. Dec 11 at 8.30 approx 3 hours away from Mater mothers at lake weyba Noosa (our wedding venue) I started to bleed with no pain my husband to be took me into the nearest hospital for a check up they advised me that I was not in labour but I'd needed to be transferred the next day via ambulance too Mater mothers my partner and I were devasted but laughed at the fact our little girl was already controlling our lives. The next morning we quickly rearranged plans and were married in the nambour hospital chapel before being transferred too The Mater. I was admiitted untill the baby decided to show. 4 weeks later at 00.06 in the morning our little miracle Chilli Ryhme was born weighing 2000grams. It was touch and go and Chilli needed to be incubated with an unbelievable up hill battle day by day we watched as she pulled through her trying obstacles meeting milestone after milestone we finally bought our miracle home on her d.d. And apart from needing a small amount of oxygen due to cronic lung disease we are blessed with a beautifull baby girl. I hope that my story inspires mothers out there fight till the very end and never give up.
