Hi, like many of you before pprom happened to me I had never even heard about it.
I have 2 children 7 and 3 both were normal pregnancies no problems I had a natural birth with my 7 year old and a c section with my 3 year old both at term.
In January of this year i got pregnant then 8 weeks later I started bleeding went to the hospital and I had a misscarrige at 8 and a half weeks I had no pain just bleeding like a period.
A month later I got pregnaant again I was so happy that i got pregnant so quick. Between 6 and 12 weeks I had spotting on and off everytime i went to the emergency room they just told me everything seemed fine.
then the day of my 14 week check up I started bleeding when I left the doctors office I was bleeding so much that I thought for sure that I was having a misscarrige. I went in for an ultrasound and I told the tech that I had a misscarrige she said no your baby is fine all is well. I was so happy I asked my doctor about the bleeding and he said that it just happens sometimes and not to worry. I should mention that this was the same doctor that I went to for my other 2 pregnancies. I should also mention that at by 17 week check up he had never checked my blood or urine. I thought this was strange. Between 16 and 18 weeks I started noticing this strange looking discharge bright yellow sometimes greenish and I started fwelling alot of pressure in my groin area when standing or walking. I just thought that I was tired. then on Sunday morning my husband called me at 6 am when I got of the phone with him I just felt a big gush of water come out there was so much I knew that my water had broken I called my husband back panicking I got in my car and drove to the hospital. It was a catholic hospital they told me tat there wasent much that they could do for me or the baby so they told me that I would probably go into labour within 1 week, and if I had the baby before 24 weeks they would not try to save her even if she wa alive, they gave me antibiotics and sent me home. I went to my doctors the next day he just told me to0 go home and come see him in 2 weeks that was it! I couldent belive what a jerk he was. I was going crazy i was always crying I went to 3 different hospitals and called a bunch of doctors and noone could help me all of the doctors kept telling me that the baby wouldent survive and that I should terminate the pregnnancy because I could get an infection. Then they would tell me that it was to dangerous for me to have a d&e because I had a c section and that if I did terminate I would have to go through labour and give birth to my little baby who might gasp for air and they were going to watch her die because she was under 24 weeks old. I stayed in bed for most of the next to weeks my husband thought that all of the doctors were crazy and that everything would be fine. I broke down one of those days and I begged my husband to help me because I felt like noone could help me. I ended up going to Mount Sinai hospital and begging there emergency doctors to help me as soon as I walked in they said dont worry we are going to
help you. They told me that there was no way this baby was going to survive becauuse I had no fluid left. The doctor told me that she would do a d&e on me the following Tuesday she said that surgery would be best compared to getting induced and that I could go home the same day. I dident want to do it because my baby was still alive and a d&e would mean that they were cutting her up inside of me while she was still alive and I dident want to be put to sleep. I also dident want to be induced beecause they told me that it could take several days and that my baby might be alive when born and she would gasp for air and no one would help her. I was so scared but at least this hospital was giving me options.
I preyed to god to either let me stay pregnant and let the baby be ok or to let me go into labour myself and not let the baby suffer. 2 days later at 20 weeks and 1 day exacly 2 weeks after my water broke I woke up and noticed that I had a bit of streaking of blood. We went to the hospital and they told me that I was 2cm dilated they wanted to induce me but I refused because both of my other labours were quick that was part of the reason why I had a c section. We left the hospital and drove home and by the time I got home I was having bad contraction every 5 minutes or so and a bit moe blood so we went right back to the hospital they checked me again they said I was 4cm dilated they still wanted to induce me but it was a no go. I asked for an epidural and I dident feel a thing about 1 hour later I had my little girl Aiesha and she wasent breathing when she was born. God had answered my prayers and she dident have to suffer gasping for air. We are going to try again ASAP. They don't know what caused my pprom and they probably never will.
