By Suzanne, Adelaide AustraliaThis was my fourth pregnancy and fourth PROM, with first at 36weeks, 2nd at 34 weeks, third at 28+6 weeks and this one at 29+2 weeks. The pregnancy was a problem right from the start, I had a bleed at 5 weeks, morning sickness (vomiting) until 14 weeks, and Braxton Hicks contractions since 12 weeks. After 3 threatened prem labours and drugs to stop them, my membranes ruptured at 29 weeks 2 days. I was hospitalised to and given IV antibiotics to prevent infection. They monitored me to see if I was going to go into labour, after four days I noticed my loss turning green , so they hooked me up for monitoring and babys heart was dipping out with each contraction (had been mild since waters broke). I was rushed down to L&D and prepped for a C-section.
PROM at 29 weeks + 2 days. Delivery at 30 weeks.

When they delivered our daughter, she screamed her head off, and her apgars were 9 & 10. We got to hold her for about 15 mins and then they took her away to be cleaned up, and weighed. She weighed 1460 Gms or 3lb 3 1/2oz, She never needed any oxygen and is 16 days old today, she still has not had any Bradys or apneas, is in and isolette until she puts on some more wight, and doing everything they told us she would not be able to do. For all those mums out there that have been given the worst case, know that there is always hope. We have know how hard it is with our third child and now we know that some babies dont always do what is expected of them!!
