well what a journey!!
my pregnancy progressed normally i had sickness, had great photos from my 12 week scan and was happily looking forward to my 20 week scan we were going to find out i was having we already had a son. but the day of my 20 week scan was not the happy event i was looking forward to.
at the scan they informed me that my fluid was very low and asked if i had lost any waters i said i did not think so although did remember a very small trickle a couple of weeks before. they then said something must be wrong with baby.
i was told to come back in a week and be re scaned.
So back i went and fluid still low but when they checked baby they could find nothing wrong, again was told to come back and be re scanned. in the hallway i just break down crying a midwife takes me to a room to try and console me but is still just as negative as everyone else in that they dont expect pregnancy to continue.
about a week later i have my first noticable loss of fluid i rush to hospital they do a scan and say baby ok put me on antibiotics and send me home. i put myself on bedrest someone advises me to take omega 3 and drink lots of water. for the following weeks are countless trips to hospital to be checked i lose fluid on a daily basis but amazingly baby stays put and keeps about 4cm of water. i have steroids at 27 weeks, i was due to have a c section at 34 weeks but then at 33 weeks i go to hospital with bad adominal pain they think that my placenta was abruting and because baby showing signs of distress they decide to c section. our daughter who proved them all wrong arrived safely weighing 4lb 15 oz she spent 2 weeks in special care but mainly just to get feeding established and to treat her jaundice.
if your waters break early do not give up hope you may have a little fighter in there like we did :)
