I had developed braxtonhick contractions at 34 weeks that were very strong, so we went to the hospital, the nurses were concerned but the Ob said I was not dilating and to just go home and take paracetamol for the pain. Well the contractions came and went for the next two weeks. The night before my baby was born I rang the hospital totally distressed, my baby had been kicking and moving so much that I had bruises on my tummy and I was not handerling the pain. The nurses said to come in and called my OB, when he arrived he checked me and said I was still not dilated, and the baby was not distressed as if she was distressed she would not be moving much. When we left the hospital, I burst into tears, I could not handle being home by myself and my husband had to go back to work, so he decided to take me to my mothers. I stayed the night at my mothers, the next morning as I went to get into the shower, my waters broke, I looked down and it was green, with meconium. I called mum, who called the hospital and my husband, then we took off for the hospital straight away as we new that the baby was distressed. When we arrived at the hospital I was induced and after 4hours of labour delivered a healthy baby girl at 5 lb 11 oz. I feel that had I had a understanding doctor maybe I would have understood what was happening and would not of got both myself and my baby upset.
