By Misty, Maryland USMy husband and I were very excited to find out that we were expecting our second child. We have a beautiful 4 year old daughter. My pregnancy with her was picture perfect, so I just assumed that was the way it would always be with my pregnancies...WRONG! At seven weeks along I began to spot, brown. We went to the emergency room and I was told the baby was just fine, but I had a small subchorionic heamatoma(placental blood clot) and that this was usually nothing to worry about. Well the spotting continued for a while. Then at 14 weeks the bleeding was getting heavy. Bright red and ALOT, like a period everyday. The doctors continued to tell me that everything was great and dont worry just rest as much as possible. One Sunday I lost a clot the size of my hand, that was it I just knew something was not right. I finally convinced my OB to send me to a perinatloigst, were at 17 weeks I discovered that the fluid level was too low. I was monitored for the next 2 weeks where the level went back up then down. At 18 weeks I woke up 2 times in the middle of the night with wet clothes, but it was bloody and I just thought I was bleeding more than normal,as I bleed all the time. Then I started to think that was alot of blood, maybe it was a rupture. Sure enough I went for my sono and I was ruptured. My son was cramped and not moving most of the pregnancy. I believe that the bleeding throughout caused the rupture. We delivered our son RJ on October 7, the worst day of our lives. I miss him dearly and still forget sometimes that I am not pregnant anymore. Please if you have had something similar, contact me...
PROM at 18 weeks + 2 days. Delivery at 19 weeks + 2 days.
