By Yvette Littlejohn, Fort Worth, Texas USAI PROMed at 13 weeks and was seen by a perinatologist and was told that the baby would have no chance of survival to terminate the pregnancy. I could not do that. I prayed for the best and put it in gods hands. I was put in the hospital on bedrest at 24 weeks recieved steroids and was seen by the NICU doctor from the local childrens hospital and was told that things were looking good. With my early dose of steroids and if i could make it to 26 weeks he had a greatoutlook on things. 2 nights ago i would have these "cramping episodes" they hooked me up to the monitor and said that they were not contractions. The next morning the doc checked me and i was diallated to a 2. Last night the "cramping" started up again. The nurse gave me a sleeping pill so i could get some rest and it would relax me an hour later i couldn't even lay i bed i was hurting so bad. So they gave me 2 vicodin. That did absolutely nothing. So they told me that they were moving me to labor and delivery. I got there and they gave me demerol to ease the pain and since i was in labor and they did not know it yet again it did nothing. At that point i was so out of it i couldn't even keep my eyes open. I remember my husband getting there and me telling him to go get the nurses because somethings not right. So finally they decide to chekt me and i was diallated to an 8. So they put the epidural in and it felt like it took hrs. I was having contractions the whole way through it. I was begging them to hurry. and yet the whole time i couldn't even open my eyes. The nurse had me lay back down and lifted my leg up in he stirrup and when she lifted the other leg the head started coming out. So here came the NICU team and my perri. She slipped right out at 3:54am fighting for breath. They could not get the tube down her and she passed about an hr later. So now i lay here and i feel so empty inside, so lost, so hurt, i wonder how i will move. how will i ease the pain. Jesus wanted my sweet Gracie and now she rest in heaven.
