PROM at 33 weeksDelivery at 34 weeks.

This was my 6th pregnancy. I had several miscarriages, then 2 losses due to PPROM. ( Look for my other prom stories on here...16 + 20 weeks)

Each time my water broke, my doctors ( 3 different ones) examined me and told me I did not have an incompetant cervix. After adopting our daughter, we were suprised with a positive pregnancy test. I had read on this website that I should request biweekly vaginal ultrasounds.
I made a list of all the suggestions on this site and found a good high risk OB. On my first visit she went over everything and agreed to try everything I asked.
We started bi-weekly ultrasounds at 10 weeks. At 17 weeks my cervix had funneled FROM THE INSIDE! No wonder my small town doctors kept missing the incompetant cervix. It couldn't be seen from the outside looking in. How good it felt to finally have an answer!
I had a cerclage, and did weekly P17 shots. At 20 weeks I started funneling down to the cerclage and was put on strict bedrest. Then at 22 weeks, I was admitted to the hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy. I went into labor 3 different times but it was always stopped. Prolonged Indocin, procardia and Magnesium sulfate helped me stay pregnant for weeks. The day I turned 33 weeks my water broke. They ran antibiotic IV's and got me to 34 weeks. I delivered a healthy baby boy. My third delivery and it was the first time I heard a baby cry. It was amazing!
I am so thankful for this website.

NEVER GIVE UP HOPE AND DEMAND THOSE BIWEEKLY ULTRASOUNDS!!!
