By Vicky Moss, Birmingham EnglandMy waters broke at 19+1. They went with a trickel at first but then started gushing. A few times i would stay dry but then it was as though the baby was bloking the hole and the fluid would gush again.
PROM at 19 weeks + 1 days. Delivery at 33 weeks + 1 days.

I was seen weekly in the day assessment unit at the hospital weekly for swabs, bloods etc to check for infection.
At 19 weeks we were giventthe option to terminate the pregnancy but chose not to.
I developed pre-eclampsia at 31 weeks and was hospitalised. at 33 weeks the pre-eclampsia was so bad i had to have the baby. I had a cesarian under general anethetic.
I gave birth to a baby boy who came out crying. Sadly he survived for 4 hours. he had pulmonary hypoplasia due to prolonged early rupture of membranes.
we got to hold him as he passed away peacefully. This was the most presious thing to us having been able to hold him and be with him. we got to smell him and love him and this has helped us deal with our loss.
If i were ever to go through the same situation i would not change a thing. I would not terminate as our memories with baby stanley will be with us forever.
