By Dawn, Richmond, VA USAMy water broke December 23, 2004, at 15w6d. My doctor told me not to hold out hope, that it was possible for the tear to repair itself and I could regain fluid. This would usually happen within 48 hours so long as labor did not begin. Unfortunately, I did not regain any fluid, but my beautiful little miracle baby was still alive. My husband and I said many prayers and asked many questions. We spoke with 5 different doctors at the hospital and they all said the same thing--that I must induce labor. My husband and I agreed that we would leave it in God's hands. I developed a terrible infection that could have threatened my life and keep me from having any more children on December 26th. My doctor began the medication needed to induce labor on December 27th; my labor began that night and our beautiful little son, William Thomas, was born on December 28, 2004 at 2:47 A.M. He was 7 inches long and weighed 3.8 ounces. He barely lived 1 minute after he was born.
