When I first became pregnant, my fiancee and I were on vacation in San Diego for a vacation/wedding. I took the test at the end of the trip because I was a week late and feeling a little too snug in my jeans. We were pregnant, finally, after throwing caution to the wind and letting the chips fall where they may. However, we were both smokers at the time, and before we got on the flight back home, we decided to quit. I made it quite far along in the pregnancy... but I did smoke cigarettes along the way.

October 16th would have been my due date. I'm so sorry I was so selfish to even take one puff of a cigarette. I was pregnant at the same time as five other women I worked with...One had lost a son at five months because of an incompetent cervix. Another - who just delivered a beautiful baby boy in September - smoked half a pack to ten cigarettes a day. All the doctors say it wasn't my fault that I had PROM, but I truly think it is.
I'm sorry I smoked during pregnancy. I'd give my life for my son's, but I didn't realize by smoking cigarettes I had already chosen to take his instead. Lesson learned and being learned still. Thanks for listening.
