PROM at 30 weeks + 4 days. Delivery at 31 weeks + 1 days.

My water broke on July 4,2004 at home. I immediately called the doctor and she told me to come the birthing center immediately. She did a sterile speculum test and sure enough my water had broken. I was then taken my ambulance to a bigger hospital the had a NICU and High risk area. I continued to wait and be monitore for 4 days. On July 8 the nurse put me on the monitor at 9:15 am She couldn't find a heartbeat. I was rushed to the OR for an emergency c- section. I had Galen at 9:38 am . Galen lived for 14 1/2 hours. He died in my arms. I still don't comletely understand what happened. He was a perfect strong little boy. at 4lbs 4oz 17 1/2 in The autopsy showed he had E coli and that is what killed him. I am so heartbroken I had the perfect child and now he is gone. The doctors say I am lucky because the infection was so bad I should have died. Lucky huh? I miss him so much but I know someday i will see him again. Mommy loves you Galen
