My pregnancy was a nightmare to begin with. My husband and I had to use artifical insemination to get pregnant because I did not ovulate correctly. At 9 weeks of my pregnancy I began to bleed heavily and was told that the baby was fine.The bleeding stopped and the pregnancy progressed normally until I was 14 weeks at which time I was diagnosed with a short cervix (1.5cm). The doctor decided to keep an eye on it but unfortunately on my 26th week, I went into preterm labor and had to take brethine to stop it. Finally in my 32nd week, my water broke! And just to make matters worse I forgot to mention I was on bedrest this whole entire pregnancy!!! My OB ( God love her ) decided to hold off labor and give me steroid shots. Finally on 5-27-04 at 3am my little boy was starting to go into distress so I went in for a c- section (he was breech). He weighed 4lbs 9 oz.

Joshua never needed 02 at birth. He had jaundice, one infection and was labeled a feeder/grower. After 17 days in the nicu he came home on NO monitors! He weighed 5lbs 8oz when he left and now 1 month later weighs 8lbs 3oz!

Never give up and find a good OB. It makes a difference. My OB was a gift sent from God and I thank God every day she was my doctor.
