PROM at 27 weeks + 2 days. Delivery at 28 weeks + 1 days.

My water broke on Sep 27, 2003 at 2:00 am, and I new it right away. Because in my last pregnacy my water broke at 19 weeks and and I delived a still born at 23 week. I have been so scared it would happen agin. I went to the hospital with no contractons and only 1 cm. They gave me both staroid shots to help his lungs. Everything was ok untell Sep 30. I had small contractons for the next 37 hours but never anything hard, and then it just stoped. Friday witch was the father 21st b-day I woke up like normal, my daughter Destiny (age 4 - born 36weeks) was coming to vist me. She was there for about a half hour and I got a contracton. But not just any contracton, this was like what I had hours into having my daughter. So I called my nurse, they were coming every min.(12:00pm) She was like don't worry, I keeped saying go get the doctor this is differnt. Finaly after an 1/2 hour they got the docter I was 2 cm. But they we worried every contracton his heart would go from 150 to 90. They decided to move me because the baby was so small they said I could deliver at 4cm.
They moved me and called my doctor. I felt like I had to push so bad so they checked me at 4:00pm I was only 4. They decided to give me oxygen to help the baby heart rate. They said the baby's head is so small and soft that the longer I could hold out to 10 the better for the baby. At 5:00pm My doctor got there he checked me 5-6cm. Brian was such a good coach, but you could see he was scared. 6:00pm he checked me agin 8-9. They keeped saying C-secton soon if his heart rate did not get better. Then 6:30 he came in he said I was complet and could push when I wan't. After the first push they told me to stop they could see his head. So they got doctor Ramie I pushed agin and out came his head they sucked out his moth. They didn't tell me later but the cord was around his neck So they cut his cord too. Then the next push out he came. He was crying (wich I couldn't belive) and kicking all over I never saw his face. I just saw the nurse grab him and go. I was so scared , but after about 15 min they came in and said he was doing great abscare scores of 8 and 8 . He weighed 2lb 3.1oz and was
14 1/2" long. His name is Shane Nicholas C**** , and was born on his daddy's 21st Birthday.(how cool)



He just got off CPAP today 10-7-03 and took his first feeding too. I all so got to hold him for the fist time. So far all the altrosound on his head have come back neg. for brain bleeding. So we think he will do great.

My son who just 10 months ago was 2lb 3oz is now 18lb 9oz
can you belive it he still can't sit up, roll over or any of that but is in fisical theraphy. He is still on an aptna mich. He has Gastral Refulx, Apena, Brecardia, Prematurity of Retna, and a heart mermer. But he is so cute and just the light of my world
