By Jazzmere Funchess, detroit, Mi usaI found out I was pregnant in November of 2002, I was happy and also a little scared. I am 17 and a high school senior, so I will be graduating soon, that was the most scariest thing of all. I had regular check ups. I was 20 weeks along and was at my boyfriend house that night. I was staying over because I had my next check-up the next day and he lived near the doctor office. I was laying down and I had to go to the restroom. While I was using it my water had broken and it was a big gush everywhere. I called him in and told him what happened and he said lets go to the hospital. We got to the hospital and they checked me and told me that my water did break and and I had to options to delivery or not, but there was a chance of getting an infection then I would have to delivery. I chose to delivery because I didn't want to take my baby through the pain. This wasn't my first time pregnant I have lost a child before due to pre-eclampsia at 21 weeks in April of 2002. My boyfriend was there the whole time which I am thankful for. After about 4 hours in a room they finally gave me something for me to start contracting. I was going through about 6 hours of labor. I finally gave birth to a baby girl who had a strong heart beat. All I can say is they didn't even give her a chance. She had hair on her head, thick eyebrows and look just like her father while her eyes were closed. We held her and said our goodbye's. I was going to name her Gabrielle. She will always be in my heart and her fathers and I just want her to watch over us and let her know she was our special child. This happened on March 7, 3003 and it happened so fast.
PROM at 20 weeks + 4 days. Delivery at 20 weeks + 5 days.
