By Brittany, Roseville, CA SacramentoThis was my second pregnancy after a previous PROM at 34 weeks (delivery by C-Section at 36 weeks). I was never told about PROM, and thought my first PROM was a fluke. During my second pregnancy I was considered high risk and had ultra sounds every 4 weeks. I was also places on and off bed rest for the entire pregnancy. Just like the first pregnancy my water broke, and I never had a single contraction. I was placed on full bed rest at the hospital, where the baby and I were monitored non stop. After 2 weeks of bed rest my Son was born via C-Section at 34 weeks, and was taken to NICU where he remained for 2 weeks. He is now 2 years old and healthy as can be! I have been warned of having another child (#3), for fear of an even earlier PPROM and delivery. Even though the stats for PPROM are apparently about 2%, I seem to be in the 2%. Both of my children and happy and healthy.
