By Charlene, Ontario CanadaI just found this site as we are considering getting pregnant again and wanted to tell a very happy story. Everything was going very well. A little bit of nausea and dizziness in the first trimester and a "low lying placenta", but my midwife concluded the risk of placenta previa to be almost non-existent. In April 2000 my water broke in the middle of the night. The obstetrician gave us a "glimmer" of hope following the ultrasound, indicating there was a fair amount of fluid. I was given steroids and immediately put on antibiotics and in-hospital bed rest. After two weeks in hospital, I was sent home on bed rest. One week later I started to bleed, but everything was still fine. 2 weeks later I went into labour and delivered our beautiful Patrick. He was in the NICU, primarily with pulmonary problems and was discharged 8 weeks later. He is now 22 months old, very happy, very healthy and right on track for his actual developmental age. We are truly blessed.
