By Lisa, The woodlands, Tx USAAfter 1 year of infertility treatments, I was pregnant with triplets. At 8 weeks, one of the heart beats stopped and i was left with a twin pregnancy. During this time, I started spotting only to find out I had a hematoma(blood clot) between twin a and twin b's sac. I was on house bedrest until about 12 weeks. At 14 weeks, I was in bed again because I felt fullness in my belly and my perinatologist told me to go to bed, that evening as I sat up in bed, my water broke. I found out 4 days later that prom had in fact occured on twin a. I made it to 26 weeks at home on complete bedrest except for 2 showers a week and a weekly ob visit. At 26 weeks I was put in the hospital because it appeared that twin b's heart had fluid around it. Twin b's heart was fine, but i began leaking fluid (up until this point i never leaked fluid since the rupture) I held off delivery until 28 weeks and 5 days, delivered vaginally and both boys at 2lbs each were born. They spent 3 months in the nicu and preemie nursery. Twin a (Matthew) had dislocated hips and tibial torsion as a result of the prom, but they will be 5 in october and are my perfect boys I prayed so dearly for. They are a little small, but no lasting effects and their teachers at school say they are above average. Have faith in God and stay in bed!!!!
