By Jen Anderson,I had PROM at 16.5 weeks and was given about 1% chance of keeping the pregnancy. I had periodic bleeding and even lost a clot. I was able to keep the pregnancy and the perinatologists induced me at 36 weeks. My little girl survived.
PROM at 16 weeks + 5 days. Delivery at 36 weeks.
Story added: 2000-01-05
She was born with a bell shaped chest and has small lungs but they are able to support life and they say that by the age of two or so she should have normal lung capacity or at least very close too.
I spent five months on bedrest and drank about 12 glasses of water a day. I also took herbs that prevent misscarriages. It all seemed to work for me and I was able to beat the odds. I wanted to let you all know my story because I believe that Doctors advice abortions far to easy and that there is hope for prom mothers.
Thankyou, Jennifer
