I was walking to my final exam for my college class when I felt a gush of water leak unto the concrete. I was rushed to the hospital and told I would most likely miscarry and I was given the option to terminate. I decided to wait the pregnancy out. I never had a bleed, just clear fluid leaking. I admitted myself to the hospital at 26 weeks. I was monitered every four hours for a month until I went into labor. I woke up at 2:30 am with constipation type pains and within a couple of minutes contractions begun. I was prepped for an emergency c-section and my beautiful baby boy was born at 4:37 am. He made no noise. I was able to see his face and he was immediately whisked away to the nicu. He had to be recuscitated for 30 seconds. He was put on a ventilator for 7 days and slowly weaned off. He did suffer minor brain bleeds but more than likely will not cause any long lasting effects because they were minor. He spent 62 days in the nicu and came home and has been thriving every since. He is 5 months old and is on track for his adjusted age besides his weight. Hes a small little guy, but hes a happy baby with just preemie issues.
