PROM at 20 weeks + 6 days. Delivery at 29 weeks.

I woke up at about 4.30am on Sunday 5th June 2011. I felt as if I needed to go to the toilet. I This happened a couple of times, I also had a blood clot. I woke my husband up and we phoned the Maternity Unit.My husband took me to the Labour ward where they examined me and also took a scan. My waters had indeed broke but my cervix was closed. The Doctors told me that I would most likely miscarry. I stayed in hospital for a few days as a precaution. The following week I had another clot, this time I stayed in for one night. I now had to got to the Day Unit twice a week until the time of birth. The Day Unit tests included blood test for my CRP levels, White Cell Count and Hemoglobin. and also Vaginal Swabs. Until I reached 24 weeks the hospital concentrated on me. When I reached 24 weeks I started on the ECG Monitor. Everyting was going well. At 25 weeks, I had to go to the hospital for steroids to help the babys' lungs.Still going well, feeling the baby kicking etc. Until early hours of the 22nd August. I was so uncomfortable. I could not sleep. I even tried sleeping on the couch, with no luck at 7am I phoned the Labour Ward and they advised me to come in to the Day Unit to get checked over at 9am. I did just that. I had my usual tests done but this time the Doctor was there and he checked me over. He told me I was not in labour and my Cervix was closed. He told me to go home and if the pain got any worse to phone Labour Ward. He did say that if I had not delivered by the time I was 35 weeks I would be induced. I went home I was so uncomfortable that I phoned the Labour Ward again and they asked how many contractions I had I told them non. I was asked to go straight to Labour Ward. I got there just before 12 by the time I was examined I was 9cm dialated. By 12.28 I had a baby boy Cameron David Canfield Bainbridge. He was born with Chronic Lung Disease and a Collapsed Lung. The Doctors worked on him for 8 hours before We got to see him. We even had him blessed as they thought He wouldnt make the short journey from the hospital to the NICU. Cameron spent 7 weeks there before being transferred back to SCBU at the hospital where he was born where He spent another 6 weeks. Finally on the 22nd November, 15 days after his due date. Cameron came home. Although he is still on 0.1 oxygen. We still have our baby boy. There is hope for you all.
