By Lisa, USAMy water broke on May 20, 1999. Two months before my due date which was July 27, 1999. I have never been so scared in my life. I had no clue what to expect or if my baby had any chance. I was taken by ambulance to a hospital about an hour away from home, as they did not have the resources to care for my baby in my home town. When taken in the first thing they did was an amniosintis to check for infection. There were no signs of infection so I was put on strict bed rest. After 10 days of being in the hospital, I encountered an infection and they did an emergency ceaserian. I had a beautiful baby girl named Hailee who weighed 3lbs. 14 ounces. Almost 4 pounds! She had to stay in the hospital for about a month and a half due to premature lungs and so that doctors and nurses could keep a close eye on her. She weighed about 5 pounds when we brought her home and is now almost a year and weighs 24 pounds!
