Story added: 2011-07-19
Carrying triplets was always a lot of work, but at 28.4 weeks I thought my bladder had given out. It turns out that I was leaking fluid. I was admitted to L&D & given steroid shots & mag. My doctor told me that I should take it day by day. I made it the first 48 hours and they moved me down to antepartum. I lived on the antepartum floor until 31 weeks when I started having contractions. The doctors were happy that I made it to 31 weeks being a typical gestation for triplets. They didn't try to stop my labor at that point. I delivered 3 boys later that evening (all were over 3 lbs each). My baby A who had been without fluid for those 2.5 weeks, was on C-Pap (room air) for 24 hours and given antibiotics in case of infection. His Lumbar Puncture came back negative for infection. Of all the boys, he was the 1st one home from the NICU after 33 days!
