By Kelley Gelnar, Columbia, MO USAMy story, I truly believe is a miracle and miracles really do happen. I found out that I was pregnant with my second child. At 15 weeks, I woke up in the morning to feel something wet in my bed. I thought I had started bleeding but it was clear fluid. My doctor advised me to come into his office where he determined that my membranes had ruptured. He told me that I would more than likely go into labor and deliver this child within the next 24 to 48 hours. He sent me right away to see a high risk OB doctor in case there was something that could be done. This doctor put me on strict bedrest and a multitude of vitamin supplements. I was on bedrest for 11 weeks when I developed an infection in my placenta and had to deliver my baby 14 weeks prematurely. She had a very difficult first two days. They could not get her oxygen levels up high enough. She made a turn around and never looked back. She is now 4 months old, 1 month adjusted age and has no health problems at all. She is a very healthy, happy baby after having spent 74 days in the NICU. She came home on March 14, her due date was April 4th. There is hope for anyone who has experienced this.
PROM at 15 weeks + 1 days. Delivery at 26 weeks + 4 days.
