At 31wks 3days I noticed that my Braxton Hicks contractions were becoming very regular, with 3 per hour. I also had some back pain. I had my next doctor appointment in two days, so I decided not to worry too much. my doctor didn't seem too concerned about my symptoms. Three days later, my water broke while I was taking a bath. I had hoped I was imagining things, but 2 hours later I was at my local hospital, where they told me I would have a new baby within 48 hours. They transferred me to the nearest hospital with a NICU. Luckily it was only a half hour away. I ended up being induced at 34wks 6days. After only 7 hours of labor I had a beautiful son. He was 5lbs 12oz and had respiratory distress syndrome. He only had to spend 7 days in the NICU. Now he's a chubby, healthy 6 week old baby.
