My pregnancy was going great. My husband and I were shocked to find out we were pregnant again since we had 1 year old twins but it was a blessing none the less. At 16 weeks, good Friday in fact, my I suffered a rupture. I thought at first that maybe a had lost a little bit of bladder control but it just kept coming so I left work and went to the emergency room. All of the nurses and doctors would not tell me anything except for that I definetly ruptured. They did an ultrasound and my fluid was really low and they had me stay over night in the hospital. No one would tell me what was going on or what to expect. The next day I met with a specialist who told me that I would probably miscarry and that we should terminate and that even if we did not terminate the baby would be born with possible physical and mental handicaps. My husband and I cried and talked it over and decided to wait and see what happened. I went home and each week went to the specialist to check my fluid levels. They varied from 10cm to 2cm. Everytime we went it seemed that the nurses and doctor did not think things would turn out well. At 24weeks I was admitted to the hospital for the remander of my pregnancy. Weeks went by and I continued to lose fluid. I drank as much water as I could and just stayed in the bed. We got over all of the major milestone hurdles then the doctor told me that at 34weeks the risk of infection out wayed the risk of prematurity. Well at 34weeks 6days we did the scheduled c-section. My baby boy was born 7.2lbs and everyone was amazed how big and healthy he was. He spent two weeks in the NICU with no major problems then came home. He is now a healthy 16lb 4month old and is growing like a weed. Looking at him you would never know what he had been through during the pregnancy. There were definetly rollercoaster days and the fear of miscarrying was always there but we made it. It is definetly the hardest thing that I have gone through emotionally. I had to leave my twins for almost 3months but all I could do was stay positive for their little brother because I knew whatever was going to happen was in Gods hands. I hope that my story helps some of you that are going through the same thing.
