My husband and I lost our little
daugther right after birth on the 16th
of September this year, after 24
weeks' pregancy. Her name is Signe,
which means "a person who fight and
win".
Signe passed away right after birth.
The doctors ran away with her to try to
save her, so we never saw her alive.
She was still warm when they returned
with her. Signe's lungs were immature
due to her young age in combination
with a complete lack of amnion. My
membran raptured after 15 weeks'
pregnancy, probably because of a
bleeding from the placenta since week
12. I were leaking once or twice daily
the last month. If she had been born
some weeks later, they might have saved
her, our little, beloved daughter. She
was so beautiful! She looked so much
like her daddy. She had blonde hair and
eye lashes, and tiny, tiny finger
nails. We brought her home after the
post-mortem examination. It was so good
to have her with us in her little
coffin in our own home.
Signe was our first child. We would
never, never have been without her. She
has given us so much. The months of
pregnancy when we could feel her tiny
movements, the songs that we song for
her and which now give us so many
memories, the hope that we had (at
least sometimes), the love we felt and
still feel towards our beautiful little
princess. I feel that I could have gone
through the whole painful and traumatic
pregancy once again if I just knew that
I could see her and hold her, our
daughter, another second.
She has made us understand more about
what life is about. She made me and my
husband come closer together. She
tought us so much.
I miss her.
