My Pregnancy was going along well until
around 14 weeks when i started spotting
a little and had some slight back
pain. The doctor sent me for an early
ultrasound to which everything looked
fine and as the bleeding had stopped,
they said it was nothing to worry
about. Up till my 19 week ultrasound i
had been having quite alot of discharge
which was a pinkish color, swabs came
back ok, so again, they weren't
concerned.
Then to my horror i had a major bleed
at 19weeks and 6 days. We went
straight to the hospital who preformed
an ultrasound and found that our little
girl was doing just fine, so they sent
us home. Two days later i noticed alot
of fluid leaking and went to my doc who
confirmed that my membranes had
ruptured and the poor chances she had
to survive. Never at any stage however
did we give up hope.
I was bed ridden at home until around
22 weeks and was then transferred to a
city hospital. All the while leaking
fulid and bleeding would be on and
off. After a week in hospital it was
confirmed that their was no longer any
fluid surrounding our baby. But the
bleeding seemed to have stopped so we
were hopefull, she seemed so strong. 6
days later i had some slight backache
and was worried as our darling who was
normally active hadn't kicked for over
an hour. The nurse chose thankfully to
send me straight to the ultrasound
where a doctor confirmed our greatest
fear. Our darling little girl had
died. She had been such a fighter, i
really thought she would make it.
The next day on the 19th of April 2004
i gave birth to our darling "Molly
Grace". We held her for a while and
said our goodbyes. It still hurts so
much and i think it always will. I'm
thankfull for my 8 year old son who
keeps me going.
